The venue will be the Centre C\u00edvic Sant Mart\u00ed, located at 215 Selva de Mar street, 08020 Barcelona.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The tournament will be valid for FIDE Blitz rating and Catalan (FCE) Rapid rating.<\/strong> Registration will be closed at 9:30am on Saturday 18<sup>th<\/sup> July, 30 minutes before the start of the tournament.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Entry fee will be free for all players already taking part in International Chess Open Sant Mart\u00ed 2026 and 10\u20ac for the rest of players.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">How to register:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">E-mail <a href=\"mailto:escacs@cesantmarti.com\">escacs@cesantmarti.com<\/a> or <a href=\"mailto:cesantmarti@gmail.com\">cesantmarti@gmail.com<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Registration form available on the website<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Phone: +34676204833 (9am to 10pm until 17<sup>th<\/sup> July 2026) stating full name, club and tournament (Blitz or International Open).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The tournament will be played using Swiss System at nine (9) rounds. Games will start at 10am on Saturday 18<sup>th<\/sup> July. Each player will have 3 minutes + 2 seconds additional time per move, starting from move 1.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Players will be ranked in order of FIDE rating and then FCE rating.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Any player who is absent from one round without any justifiable reason will be withdrawn. The default time will be flag fall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pairings will be supported by the computer program \u201cSwiss Manager\u201d. <strong>The order of the following tie-breakers will be drawn after the last round of the tournament to establish the final standings:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Bucholz Total (BH)<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Bucholz Medium (BH-M1)<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>If the players are still tied, the following tie-breaks will be used in this order: 3) Tournament performance (TPR), 4) Number of wins (WIN) and 5) Direct encounter (DE). If there is still a tie, a draw.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Play will be governed by FCE, FEDA and FIDE rules. The Arbiter&#8217;s decisions will be final and binding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Prizes: The following players will be awarded a trophy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Top 3 players in general standings<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Best player from Sant Mart\u00ed Chess Club<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Best player from the following FIDE rating sections: &lt; 1649, 1650-1799, 1800-1949, 1950-2099 and 2100-2200. <strong>Rating section prizes will be incompatible with general prizes.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Best Senior player (born before 31\/12\/1966)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Best Under 18 player (born after 01\/01\/2008).<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The Prize-Giving ceremony will take place right after the blitz tournament, at around 1pm on 18<sup>th<\/sup> July 2026.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The right is reserved to refuse any entry. No smoking is permitted at the inside the tournament venue, including electronic cigarettes. According to FIDE regulations, a player may not have any electronic device switched on during the playing session.
